Any nurses out there? I need advice.?

I'm planning to go back to school, and earn my nursing degree, but I have a friend who says that nursing is a very stressful job and the hours for first timers are 3rd shift. She didn't paint a pretty picture, but I'm trying not to let her deter me from my decision, but she's scaring me. I don't want to be stressed out in my new job and career. Please be honest.
