Do you ever get the feeling that "urban" entertainment?

Do you ever get the feeling that a large portion of what entertainment that is marketed to the "urban" market is nothing more than modernized minstrel. Not just certain hip hop music but a lot of stand up comedy and movies (Soul Plane and Repos for examples). It seems all it's good for is reinforcing racist stereotypes. That's my opinion but I want yours. Disagree or agree, I welcome all.
