Have the recent allegations of pedophilia with the church irrevocably weakened Christianity?

Or is it an indication of the demise of religion? I mean, now that people aren’t afraid to accuse religious leaders whom were once held in awe, the modern day pedophile priest is confronted with the accusing faces of an angry mob instead of adoring and silently respectful people.
