How counselling works....?

counseling is absolutely confidential.... she will actually sign a "hipaa" consent form which guarantees confidentiality. the only thing that can be reported is if there is currently danger to a child or if the councilor thinks she is at great risk for suicide because she is showing signs or threats. any thing that happened to her in the past that she wants to disclose is confidential. think of all the millions of people who get counseling every day and no one gets in trouble. if she doesn't want to she does not have to say names or anything like that.
