I saw blood in my stool 10months before&consulted a doctor,now i have the same once again,what to do?

I saw blood drops once before 10 months with my stool from toilet,then i consulted a doctor and he prescribed anocream and anaproct tablets.also asked to avoid chillies(red),eat bananas or fibre fruits after oily foods.Now after 10 months again i happend it,and i consulted a MS surgeon who is proffessor at medical college.he prescribed pielium tablets,oxerute cream and trena(for stop bleeding).also asked for a strict dietary for two weeks.and said that its hemorrhoids,now please give me about a dietary and other things related to this.is sugery a must?
